Eurovision 2014: The Wiener takes it all – RESULTS!

WOW! Eurovision tries its best to stay as non-political and neutral as possible, but there can be no doubt that tonight’s events furthered the cause of acceptance and celebration of all sorts of people and styles. This feeling was summarised in the winner’s speech, delivered by Austrian drag act Conchita Wurst in what will surely be one of the milestone moments in the contest.

So now the confetti is settling, let’s take a moment to look at how the results panned out!

ItalyItaly was a founding member of Eurovision, but has taken a number of breaks since its debut. The longest and most recent break was from 1997 for over a decade. Italy was eventually lured back to the Dusseldorf contest in 2011 and hasn’t looked back since.

Italy have won the contest twice, but it’s been nearly 25 years since their last one. However, out of the Big Five it seems like the most likely candidate for another win, finishing in the top 10 every year since it returned. Continue reading

The Men of Malmö 2013 – Part 2

Oh now how can you say I don’t give you what you want? After all the effort I spend writing posts on this blog, all most of you want to do is look at mucky pictures of singers. And why not? I don’t hold it against you, I might go and do that right now. But first, in honour of the first Men of Malmö post, here’s a second portion. I fear I used most of the best ones on the first post, so look at that too! I’ve got loads of the Baku guys too, if you’re good…

There’s also a 2014 remix – The Men of Copenhagen!
